Kitcisakik
Researchers from Université du Québec à Montréal and Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue developed a SELES model to evaluate forest management scenarios for the Algonquin community of Kitcisakik, Québec. The model compared three management approaches — statu quo, mosaïque, and aménagement écosystémique — tracking spatio-temporal changes in Indigenous forestry indicators across the landscape. Involving eight industrial forest management partners, the project produced a decision-support tool (un outil d'aide à la décision) to reconcile Indigenous community values with forestry planning.
